The Battery Day NRW takes place in Münster, Messe und Congress Centrum, Halle Münsterland on 5th March 2012. It presents the products, services and achievements of companies and institutions in NRW which are active in the battery technology and application market. The event is organised by the Haus der Technik (HDT) together with the EnergyResearch.NRW, EnergyRegion.NRW and NanoMicro+Materials.NRW clusters.

The current focus is particularly on the continued development of the lithium-ion battery for use in electric vehicles (electromobility). Hereby special attention is given to the optimisation of the performance, duration and safety. This requires the cooperation of all those active in the fields of energy, automobile and materials research.

This will be followed by the international symposium “Advanced Battery Power - Advanced Battery Development for Automotive and Utility Applications and their Electric Power Grid Integration” on 6^th - 7^th March.
